GoogleWave
Soo…. I was going to paint tonight, but I got a GoogleWave invite, so I doubt anything will get in the way of my internerdery tonight. Sorry paints, I’ll make up for it tomorrow.

Date: September 30th, 2009 | Category: NerderyThis week has been a pretty good week for new web apps. Tweet Deck updated their desktop app as well as releasing an excellent FREE iPhone app. It’s pretty stellar, and definitely my flavor of the week, but I still see myself bouncing back and forth between Tweet Deck, Destroy Twitter and Tweetie… For a little while anyway. Each app has its pro’s & cons. I think Tweetie is still my overall favorite, but I really like the groups, filtering and other updates from TweetDeck & Destroy Twitter. I really like how I can send links from Tweetie to Instapaper, and come across lots of great links thru Twitter and it’s very valuable to have a way to bookmark these easily. For me, saving links is huge and will most likely keep Tweetie at the top of my list for now.
Shaun Inman also released his Fever RSS reader app. Not suprisingly, it is very well made and has the same high level of quality as Mint (another of his apps), which I also use. The attention to detail in these apps as well as ease of use keep these on my list of favorite apps. Check them out if you’re not familiar with them.
Also, I’m trying out the new Opera Unite browser, and I am very impressed with it so far. I’m still playing around with the settings and all that fun stuff, but having the ability to host chatrooms, share files, photos and music directly from your desktop is just too cool for school. I’m still trying to sync my pages/apps and bookmarks between my home & work computers, but I haven’t quite got it all worked out yet. I thought the bookmarks sync’ed last night w/ Opera Link, but it didn’t seem to be working when I got to my work computer this morning. I’ll figure it out though, if I can get this to work properly, Opera will almost definitely become my main browser.
Last but not least, the iPhone 3.0 os was released today and so far, so good. The updates are really nice. I especially like the cut and paste feature. How this wasn’t included from day one, I have no idea but I’m glad it is finally here. I have an iPod touch so I won’t be able to use the text feature (but I believe AT&T doesn’t even support the damn thing yet… hello, didn’t you know this was coming? That’s just poor planning)
