I made some shirts & hoodies for an camping trip that I go on with a bunch other friends every year. This is the 10th anniversary of the trip, and it’s looking like it will go down in the record books. My brother even flew up from Texas to come (siked!)
My brother and buddies Shane & John hung out while I printed most of the shirts last night (I used John’s shop to print… thanks John!), and I’ve just got a few more that I need to re-print tomorrow, the night before we leave (nothing like the last minute, eh?) I snapped a couple of shots of the shirts & my brother with the trusty ol iPhone when I was taking a break from printing…

I hung out with Hunter at his print shop on Wednesday night. No printing for me, just prepped some screens, hanging out & looking at the mini-ramp longingly. I wished so hard that I could ride that bad-boy again (another story for another time.) I miss the shop so much, there’s so much cool stuff going on over here, its such a creative atmosphere. Good friends, good tunes, lots of art, and usually a beer or two. I wandered around for a bit & snapped some photos with the ol’ iPhone.

This is the ramp that caused my latest shoulder surgery and effectively retired me permanently from skating. Bastard.

Just look at this drawing table… man, its dope. I would be at this all day every day if I could.

It’s even got the old-school tin ceilings. Awesomesauce.

A little bit of Providence history right here for those that know whats up.

“I like things that are handmade and I like to see people’s hand in the world, anywhere in the world; it doesn’t matter to me where it is. And in my own work, I do everything by hand. I don’t project or use anything mechanical, because even though I do spend a lot of time trying to perfect my line work and my hand, my hand will always be imperfect because it’s human. And I think it’s the part that’s off that’s interesting, that even if I’m doing really big letters and I spend a lot of time going over the line and over the line and trying to make it straight, I’ll never be able to make it straight. From a distance it might look straight, but when you get close up, you can always see the line waver. And I think that’s where the beauty is.”

A couple of scans I made from the same painting. I’m thinking about making prints of the color one, but the black & white one was just an experiment in making some fun textures. I’ll give away the paper texture for free. Feel free to use it for anything you want, I just ask that you send me a pic of the result.

Here’s a quick scan of a couple of sketches I made last night while doodling in my moleskine.

I recently finished these 2 paintings to go into a show at Watch City Brewery last weekend. As part of my “get off your ass & promote your art” push, I set up a shop at DeckPeck, where anyone can go & buy skateboards with these graphics on them. There’s lots more to come on the Deckpeck site, as well as on Sintaxera’s shop, so keep checking back to see what’s new in the shops. Clothing & prints will be getting there soon, but for right now, it’s original artwork (which is way better, right?)
